After a pill is invented that keeps people from dying, a funeral home owner discovers murder a viable solution to keep his business afloat.
The film not only exploits innate human emotions (jealousy, desperation, greed) but also offers a broader societal critique. In capitalism people are pitted against each other in an attempt to grow in wealth and status. Consequently, workers are exploited, companies scam consumers, and competitors fight to take down their opponents. So, while the concept of the film is fantastical, the idea of a business owner being willing to commit murder to retain a profit doesn’t seem far from reality.
